Platform Art contributes to the cultural and economic vibrancy of Polk County by filling a unique niche that no other cultural organization alone can. Platform Art events are among the most well attended cultural art events in Polk County, attracting and engaging a multi-generational audience. Platform Art partners with other arts and cultural entities to broadens the audience for all of our respective organizations. Philanthropic funding, primarily through membership and sponsorship, is essential to sustaining and expanding Platform Art programs to meet community needs.
We are currently running a 60-day campaign to raise funds and awareness for Platform.5 (Platform-Point-Five) Youth & Art and culminates in the next Platform.5 Event on February 5, 2011 from 5:30-8:30pm at Oasis Community Church, 3330 Winter Lake Rd, Lakeland FL 33803. Please consider contributing to “Give $25 for Platform.5″ for your year-end giving through the form below the text.
Platform.5 Youth and Art showcases the artistry of area students in visual art, short film, fashion, sound and performance. The program features work by students in grades 1-12 and is produced in collaboration with schools, Explorations V Children’s Museum, Florida Dance Theatre, Junior Women’s Club of Lakeland and other nonprofit organizations. Platform.5 program supports the early efforts of young students and encourages students to continue to pursue art throughout their school careers.
