The creative industries unite to bring internationally recognized Pecha Kucha to Lakeland. Pronounced (“peh chak cha”) Pecha Kucha is the Japanese word for “chit-chat.” It is a blend of open mike, happy hour and forum for new ideas. Designers, advocates and overall creative passionate people present 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each. Originated in Japan by Klein Dytham architecture, Pecha Kucha has spread virally over 300 cities around the world.
There is a modest $5 admission at the door to cover expenses. Pecha Kucha is a completely volunteer endeavor. Proceeds remaining after each event are donated to Platform Art.

Exhibition by 25 visual artists, short films and fashion that includes t-shirtdesigns from Design the Difference and full sleeve tattoos modeled by clients of Scooter’s Skin Art. You’ll also want to shop for the finery in Shameless Commerce.
There is a henna artist from World Henna as well as a caricature artist who for a small fee will create a work of art just for you.
Enjoy a mix of musical performances, including Christian R&B/Pop singer George Lott, the bands 48 States Away and The Soul Committee. Poet and sound artist Wayne Mason from Lakeland, will present his working class inspired poetry that has appeared widely across the small press in print, online magazines and anthologies.
We are very pleased to welcome Shankh and his friends presenting the fusion band WAHH…with members Abhik Mukherjee on Sitar, Stevy on guitar, Ray Villadonga on Bass Guitar and Emily Williams on drum and Shankh on tabla and vocals.
The dramatic arts are represented through HIS Company, an ecumenical acting troupe sponsored by First Presbyterian Church of Lakeland, who will present excerpts from their upcoming living art show “All We Need Is Love”, in which famous works of art come to life revealing various manifestations of love in imaginative contexts.
Moxie Le Femme presents a cabaret-style show. Other dance performances are in the works.
Expect the unexpected as there are more surprises planned throughout the evening.
Annual Pass Holders (members), Platform Art donors and sponsors are invited to attend an exclusive VIP preview party from 6-7pm to mix and mingle with the artists and enjoy hors d’oeuvres before the Art Party begins at 7pm.
