Pecha Kucha Night Lakeland is presented in collaboration with a regional design group and Platform Art. The creative industries unite to bring internationally recognized Pecha Kucha to Lakeland. Pronounced (“peh chak cha”) Pecha Kucha is the Japanese word for “chit-chat.” It is a blend of open mike, happy hour and forum for new ideas. Designers, advocates and overall creative passionate people present 20 slides shown for 20 seconds each. Originated in Japan by Klein Dytham architecture, Pecha Kucha has spread virally over 300 cities around the world. There is a modest $5 admission to cover expenses, like electricity. Proceeds remaining after each event are donated to Platform Art.
Below is Kemp Brinson’s presentation at the very first Pecha Kucha Night Lakeland on September 3.
